Every member has one permanent, globally unique ID. Certificates and records are anchored to it — never to an email or phone that can change.

Privacy by design

Sensitive data like government-ID numbers is never shown. Only status, issuer and timestamp are exposed — and only what the holder allows.

Do I need an account to verify something?

No. Both the certificate verifier and profile lookup work fully signed-out. Signing in unlocks extra tools (bulk verify, saved verifications, audit history) but is never required for a one-off check.

What’s the difference between the two tools?

certificate.html verifies a single credential — a course certificate, degree or award — by its certificate ID. verify.html looks up an entire SkillNexus profile using a SkillNexus ID or a legacy ID: the person behind the certificates, their employment history, trust score and government-ID status.

Where do I find my certificate ID?

The certificate ID is printed on the original certificate and included in the email that was sent when the credential was issued. It is also visible on your SkillNexus dashboard under the certificate record.

What’s a legacy ID?

A legacy ID is an identifier issued by SkillNexus before the current SkillNexus ID format. Both resolve to the same anchored profile, so you can search with either.

Is the data I enter stored?

Only the verification outcome is recorded, and only if the holder has consented to a public trust score. The raw identifier you enter is never displayed publicly and is never sold.

What if a certificate shows as “revoked”?

It means the issuer has withdrawn the certificate after it was originally issued — usually due to a correction or policy violation. Revoked certificates are still traceable on the ledger, so you can see exactly when and why.

Can I verify my own certificates or profile?

Absolutely. Sign in and open your dashboard, or use either tool directly — the same engine powers both. Owner-side verification is free and instant.
